Dear members of the Postgraduate Medical Education Society (PGMES),
I am honoured to extend a warm welcome to all of you as we gather here at Hospital Sultanah Bahiyah in Malaysia’s beautiful state of Kedah. It is a pleasure to address you all as the President of PGMES and share my thoughts and aspirations for our esteemed society.
First and foremost, I would like to express my gratitude to each and every one of you for your dedication and commitment to the field of medicine. As postgraduate medical professionals, you have embarked on a journey that demands immense perseverance, continuous learning, and a passion for serving others. Your efforts and contributions are commendable, and I am proud to be part of this incredible community.
Our society, PGMES, plays a vital role in fostering collaboration, sharing knowledge, and supporting professional growth among postgraduate medical professionals. This platform serves as a space where we can exchange ideas, engage in meaningful discussions, and explore innovative approaches to enhancing healthcare delivery.
As President, my aim is to further strengthen our society by promoting inclusivity, encouraging research and academic excellence, and advocating for the welfare of our members. I firmly believe that through unity and collective action, we can overcome challenges and achieve greater heights.
I also recognize the important role that Hospital Sultanah Bahiyah plays in our medical community. It is a renowned institution that has consistently provided exceptional healthcare services to the people of Kedah and beyond. I am confident that our collaboration with this esteemed hospital will further enrich our experiences and enable us to make a positive impact on patient care.
In the coming months, we have planned an array of educational events, conferences, and workshops to facilitate knowledge exchange and professional development. I encourage all of you to actively participate in these activities, as they will not only enhance your skills but also provide networking opportunities with fellow professionals.
Lastly, I would like to extend my heartfelt appreciation to the PGMES committee and all those involved. Your hard work and dedication are truly commendable, and I am confident that the events planned will be a resounding success, InsyaAllah.

Membership Advantages Clause
- First come first serve basis. There is a cap limit of academic fund every year.
- The applicant must be a valid member for at least 6 months.
- The academic meetings must be accredited nationally or internationally.
- It is valid for the first author only.
- Please send proof of participation in PDF format via email to pgmeshsb@moh.gov.my
- Reward is valid only for 1 poster per scientific meeting.
- Posters and oral presentations are open to the medical officers and house officers only to a maximum of 2 posters and 2 oral presentations per person per year.
- Reward for published article is open to consultants/specialists/medical officers/house officers, to a maximum of 2 publications per year.
Member Fee Privilages
Special registration fee during Biennial Scientific Meeting and other workshop organized by PGMES.
Oral Presentation Rewards
RM 200 per Oral Presentation subject to 20 submissions per year. Applicable to all.
Exam Incentives
RM 200 for passing any entry examinations such as (MEDEX)

RM 100 per Poster subject to 60 posters/ year. These are only applicable for Medical Officers & House Officers ONLY
Publication Rewards
i) Low IF journal – RM200 per journal (20 journasl/year)
ii) High IF journal – RM 300 per jounal (20 journals/year)
TYPES OF MEMBERSHIP
Life Membership (Lifetime)
Life membership is open to doctors or dentist fully registered under the Malaysian Medical Council, who are serving in Hospital Alor Setar/Hospital Sutanah Bahiyah or in the office of the Kedah State Department of Health .
Ordinary Membership (Yearly Renewal)
Ordinary membership is open to doctors or dentist fully registered under the Malaysian Medical Council, who are serving in Hospital Alor Setar/Hospital Sutanah Bahiyah or in the office of the Kedah State Department of Health .
Associate Membership (Government)
Doctors or dentists fully registered under the Malaysian Medical Council, who serve in any public hospital in Kedah apart from Hospital Alor Setar/Hospital Sultanah Bahiyah;
Associate Membership (Private)
Doctors or dentists fully registered under the Malaysian Medical Council, who serve in any private healthcare facilities in Kedah;
Associate Membership (Paramedic & Professional)
Paramedics/ nurses practising in the state of Kedah.
